Welcome

My name is Vladimir Davidov, I'm 33 years old and I'm a software engineer finishing my specialization at Holberton School. As additional education I have a doctorate in Medicine from the University of Toulouse.

Since childhood, my passion for computers was ignited by an old PC in the late nineties, even without internet. At ten, I attempted to learn C from an old book, dreaming of becoming a game developer. Yet, parental expectations led me towards a medical career. Completing medical training, an inner voice nudged me towards my true calling. Become a developer.

Despite the intense dedication invested and after 15 years of priceless and invaluable experience studying and practicing medicine, I felt drawn back to my natural affinity. During my thesis, frustration brewed as I lacked the skills to develop tools for my data analysis. Witnessing the innovation in app development stirred a desire within me. Post-graduation, I sought to merge my medical background with technology to aid healthcare professionals.

So I paused my medical career to pursue programming, enrolling in a local coding school while working part-time. Immersed in programming and web technologies, my passion blossomed, leading me to create my first app DepistClic, stop my career as a physician and embrace a new path as a software engineer.

It all started with old gold C again. It was tough but I loved it. My background has equipped my with resilience, learning and problem solving skills and helped me to start this new journey. I'm not (yet) an expert in algorithms and data structures but I recognize the subtle beauty of the logic behind. I enjoy to build the back-end of an app and my creative and visual myself is also attracted by the front-end part.

I'm a quiet person, naturally curious and perpetually working on improving my chops. When I'm not behind the computer I'm usually rock climbing, reading books or hanging out with my sambo and cat.
